WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH

Structural Testing Facility

KU’s world-class Structural Testing Facility allows for full-scale research and testing on a variety of structures. It is equipped with a 40-foot-high, L-shaped strong wall capable of supporting 880,000 pounds simultaneously in two directions. The facility also has an MTS Silentflo hydraulic power unit and an MTS Flex-Text 60 control system capable of controlling up to eight channels operating jointly or separately.

Environmental and Water Resources

KU has long been at the forefront of research and discovery in environmental and water resources engineering. KU Engineering faculty are recognized as national leaders in areas including water quality and treatment, bioremediation, solid and hazardous wastes, air quality and air pollution control.
