Brian Lines of the University of Kansas has found value in partnership with Kiewit.
“This year, Kiewit hosted an OSHA ten hour training for more than 50 of our students. Our students loved the opportunity to build their resumes and learn from Kiewit’s Safety Professionals.”
KU has sent multiple faculty members to the Building a Stronger Curriculum with Kiewit (BSCK). “These workshops are a valuable opportunity for our faculty to continue developing classroom materials that are practical and hands-on. For example, I’ve incorporated an activity on Construction Operations Control from the BSCK program into our Construction Project Management course.”
“Kiewit has the resources and expertise to engage multiple programs in the university. Beyond our construction program at KU, Kiewit has reached out to Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering disciplines.”
Brian enthusiastically, and without hesitation, recommends Kiewit to other faculty because “Kiewit has the resources – and the vision – to assist your university in so many areas. And we’ve found that Kiewit will follow through on what they say they will do.”
Brian believes that Kiewit is different in many ways; “from a university perspective, Kiewit stands out to us as the only company with a designated team, University Relations, that is 100% focused on partnering with engineering and construction schools around the country. When schools see this, it indicates to us (and our students) that Kiewit invests in creating a learning culture within the industry. “
