The Master of Science (MS) degree in civil engineering is intended primarily for full-time graduate students. It requires a thesis or a final project. The MS Design Option provides a path for completion of the MS degree in two semesters.
Students pursuing the MS degree in civil engineering can specialize in any of the following areas of civil engineering:
- Construction engineering and management
- Environmental Engineering
- Geotechnical engineering and Materials
- Structural engineering
- Transportation engineering
- Water Resources
Students may start their graduate studies in the fall, spring or summer semester (except for students in the MS Design Option, who must start in the fall or spring semester). A bachelor’s degree in a field of engineering is required for admission to the M.S. degree program in civil engineering.
