Access to central campus is restricted from 7:45 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, while school is in session. Visitor parking is available in the Mississippi Street parking garage north of the Kansas Union, accessible from Mississippi Street and from Oread Avenue. Parking is also available on the street; however, you will need to allow time to walk. Avoid parking in lots that are KU designated lots, hotel or dorm parking, as ticketing or towing may result.
Parking passes are no longer issued. If you choose to use the parking garage, your license plate will be scanned as you enter. You will then have 15 minutes to find a kiosk at which you must enter your license plate information and pay in advance, by credit card or in cash, for the number of hours you plan to park. Parking kiosks are available in the SW stair tower on levels 1, 4, and 5.
The charge to park in the garage is $1.75 for the first hour, and $1.50 for each additional hour, or any portion of an hour. Cash payment may be made at a machine located in the fourth level stairwell. Payment may also be made using the ParkMobile app, which can also be used to obtain maps of the campus and to “feed the meter” remotely if you decide to stay longer than initially planned.
